Last month the City Museum of Munich (Germany) held an exhibition which featured artists from Europe, Asia and Australia. They were connected by their confident artistic position, focusing on their artistic statement rather than creating easily accessible and understandable works.

The curators Christian Minke and Christoph Pankowski believe that now it’s more important than ever to promote those artists and artworks that are free from commercialized interest and to help them expressing their subversive views without aesthetic compromises.

The exhibition Galeria Autonomica was also the premiere of Live at the Museum, a Public Delivery project with André Hemer that started in 2011. Since then, 32 films in 12 countries on four continents have been produced. Also, Filippo Minelli, an artist that we support over here at Public Delivery took part with his famous Silence/Shapes series.

Filippo Minelli – Silence: Lines, 2010

Silence: Lines is an on-going series of works by Filippo Minelli, and shares a similar idea like his smoke bomb photos. The line is a tool that is normally used in writing to say nothing. It represents silence and interacts with the urban and rural surrounding in a drastic way without changing it’s own nature. In Chinese culture the horizontal line represents the primordial breath, the separation between earth and sky and shows separation and unity at the same time, portraying the cycle that rules everything on the planet.
