Although not much is known about his identity, Banksy is the most recognized name in the world of street art. The British-born street artist-cum-film director is also an ardent political activist.

Banksy has churned out a storied and colorful body of artwork that predominantly uses irony, dark humor, subversion, and satire. In this way, his work carries a deeply humanist, political, and social message. His ability to communicate through murals, graffiti and street art has transformed underground art from being regarded as vandalism into a viable art form.

Banky’s notable work includes Kissing Coppers (2004), Rage, the Flower Thrower (2005), and Napalm Girl (2005).
