Born in 1959 in Fulton, Missouri, Nick Cave is a celebrated American performance artist, dancer, and fabric sculptor. He’s known for using a combination of installations, fashion, performance, and sculptures to produce vibrant artworks that challenge societal vices.

Through his pieces, he often addresses urgent ills like climate change, gun violence, and racism. Cave’s most recognized work is his mesmerizing Soundsuits.

His work has been exhibited at several museums and art galleries, including Seattle Art Museum, Cranbrook Art Museum, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
