Born in 1961 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Rirkrit Tiravanija is a Thai contemporary artist based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Berlin, Germany, and New York City. He conceptualizes art installations and performances that welcome participation from the audience to promote political and social revelations.

Rirkrit looks to blur the cultural, conceptual, and social boundaries throughout his artworks. He has exhibited at the National Gallery Singapore, the Stedelijk Museum, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, the Centre Pompidou, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, among many other prestigious art galleries and museums.
