Tomás Saraceno was born in San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina in 1973. The artist has interests in contemporary, mixed-media, site-specific installations and sculptures. In his practice, he usually combines the ideas of linking the social sciences, life sciences, and art, a concept that is highly evident in his community projects, works on paper, public installations, and futuristic sculptures.
Saraceno earned both his BA in architecture and MFA from the Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires. He has exhibited as a solo artist in Seoul, Berlin, Paris, Rome, Copenhagen, and New York, with multiple showings at the Architecture Biennales and Venice Biennale.
