The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is a widely recognized contemporary and modern art museum located in Bilbao’s northern Spanish Basque city. It was launched in 1997 by King Juan Carlos I of Spain and showcased more than 250 exhibitions. Renowned architect Frank Gehry designed the elegant museum building, which features an amalgamation of limestone, glass, and titanium.

The museum not only features site-specific, large-scale art installations and works by contemporary artists like Snake by Richard Serra but also houses a collection of modern artworks curated by the Guggenheim Foundation. It also exhibits Basque artists’ artworks and a permanent collection of paintings by the likes of Clyfford Still, Mark Rothko and Willem de Kooning.
